Milena Petrova, a New Assistant Professor for Bocconi and SDA

Starting in September 2013 Milena Petrova joins the Department of Finance and SDA Bocconi as an Assistant Professor. Milena Petrova holds master's degrees in International Business Relations from UNWE, Sofia, in Business Administration from Helsinki School of Economics and in Finance from Hofstra University, NY. She obtained her PhD in Finance from the University of Florida in 2006 and in the same year she joined as an assistant professor Syracuse University where she was granted tenure in 2013.

Her areas of specialization are in commercial real estate, real estate operations, corporate finance and corporate governance. She has published in top finance and real estate journals such as Journal of Banking & Finance, Financial Management, Journal of International Money and Finance, Real Estate Economics and the Journal of Real Estate Finance and Economics.

Her research activity has been acknowledged with several international awards. Prior to enter academia, Milena Petrova worked as a management consultant for Booz Allen Hamilton and as a project finance analyst for Finnvera, Finland's official export credit agency.
