Two Evenings of Live Performance at Bocconi: Musical and Performing Arts Showcase

, by Weiwei Chen
On May 13 and 14, the Roentgen Aula Magna will host a musical by BLPSA and the Performing Arts Night, with students taking the stage in song, theatre, dance, and video performances

Two back-to-back events will bring Bocconi students to the stage of the Roentgen Aula Magna, showcasing artistic projects developed as part of the Arts and Humanities activities promoted by Campus Life.

On Tuesday, May 13 at 8:30 p.m., the musical “One Normal Night with the Addams” will take the spotlight, a production by the Bocconi Live Performance Students Association (BLPSA). Inspired by the 1960s TV series, the show tells the story of the encounter between Wednesday Addams and Lucas, a sweet and “terribly normal” young man. A dinner with their respective families gives way to a bizarre evening filled with hilarious situations and reflections on identity, eccentricity, and being oneself.

The show is directed by Altea Russo, with choreography by Ginevra Grossi, and involves students in every aspect of the production: from acting to organization, from promotion to costumes. BLPSA has been active at Bocconi since 2014 and produces a student-run musical each year.

“BLPSA is like a family to me,” says Lucrezia Fantini, the association’s vice president and the actress starring as Wednesday Addams. “A group that welcomed me from my first year and with whom I share much more than a passion for musicals: time, emotions, hard work, and personal growth. Playing Wednesday has been an intense journey that pushed me to step out of myself and truly embrace the character.”

On Wednesday, May 14, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., the Aula Magna will host the Performing Arts Night 2025, an evening featuring the final performances of extracurricular courses in theatre, choral music, dance, and filmmaking, organized by Campus Life. The workshops were led by industry professionals:
Manuel Renga (Civica Scuola di Teatro Paolo Grassi) – theatre
Aleksander Zielinski (Yamaha Music Europe) – choral singing
Marco Pelle, with Beatrice Carbone – dance
Tommaso Santambrogio – filmmaking

The evening will be presented by Professor Alex Turrini, member of the Arts & Humanities Committee with responsibility for performing arts, and will feature a special appearance by Mick Zeni, former first dancer of Teatro alla Scala. It will be followed by a performance by the Bocconi Student Theater Group.

“The Bocconi theatre, singing, dance, and filmmaking courses and the Performing Arts Night were created to offer a space for creativity and enjoyment to our students,” says Professor Turrini. “They are aimed at those who have always had an artistic passion—perhaps never pursued—and for those who want to step outside their comfort zone and try something beyond academic study and coursework.”

The musical requires a paid ticket; Performing Arts Night is free but requires registration.
