Yane Svetiev Welcomed in the Department of Legal Studies
From September 2013 the Department of Legal Studies welcomes Yane Svetiev, who comes from the European University Institute.
Svetiev got an undergraduate degree in Economics from the University of Sydney, where he also obtained a degree in Law and subsequently pursued a doctorate in law at Columbia University School of Law (2010). At Columbia Law School he taught legal method and analysis and a seminar in contracts, collaboration and interpretation. Previously, he was an Assistant Professor at Brooklyn Law School in New York (2008), where he taught EU law, contract law and patent law. He was also a judicial associate at the High Court of Australia, the highest federal constitutional court, in Canberra (2002) and a litigation associate at Cravath, Swaine and Moore in New York (2005).
