Industrial Economists Meet at Bocconi
More than 400 economists are expected to turn up at Bocconi, from Friday, 29 August to Sunday, 31 August for EARIE 2014, the 41st Annual Conference of the European Association for Research in Industrial Economics, traditionally the most important gathering of academics and practitioners of the field from all over the world.
Three keynote addresses (one for each day) will be given by EARIE President, Patrick Rey (Toulouse School of Economics), Matthew Gentzkow (University of Chicago Booth School of Business) and Michael Whinston (MIT Economics Department and Sloan School of Management).
"The 41st Conference of EARIE", Michele Polo, Chiara Fumagalli and Marco Ottaviani, the members of the Local Organizing Committee, write in their welcome to the participants, "offers an excellent opportunity for researchers and professionals interested in Industrial Economics to exchange new views and discuss both theoretical and applied problems. The Conference includes many parallel contributed sessions with more than three hundred papers presented, six invited sessions and three keynote addresses".
"Here at Bocconi scholars from both the Department of Economics and the Department of Management and Technology are active in the Industrial Economics field", Fumagalli, Avvocato Giovanni Agnelli Associate Professor in Economics, says.
The three members of the local committee, chaired by Michele Polo, have been working on the Conference since last September, as has the 84-strong Scientific Program Committee, chaired by Heski Bar-Isaac (Rotman School of Management, University of Toronto).
