The Role of Trade Unions in Europe
"The Role of Trade Unions in Europe" is the title of the conference which will discuss the different roles which trade unions have today in European countries. In occasion of the debate, organized and coordinated by Maurizio del Conte (Department of Legal Studies and expert in labour law), on May 21 Università Bocconi will host academics from Italy (Edoardo Ales, Università degli Studi di Cassino e del Lazio Meridionale), Spain (José Manuel Gómez Muñoz, Universidad de Sevilla), Ireland (Anthony Kerr, University College Dublin), France (Francis Kessler, Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne), England (Malcolm Sargeant, Middlesex University London) and Germany (Bernd Waas, Goethe Universität Frankfurt am Main) who will debate on the situations of trade unions in their countries.
Maurizio del Conte has called upon these academics because "on one hand we will examine the relations between trade unions and institutions and companies which develop in each country and on the other we will try to understand what impact trade unions have on the management of single companies and on state policies."
At the end of the discussion will be traced a summary of the impact at European political level of the actions of trade unions of each country. The event is open to all and will be in English.
